The Science
What causes food intolerances?
While what we eat may cause the uncomfortable symptoms of food intolerances, the root cause may be an enzyme deficiency. Gluten, casein, lactose and phenols all have specific enzymes designed to break them down, and if we don’t produce or get enough of them through our diet, our gut can have difficulty with those foods.
How can enzymes help?
That’s where a digestive enzyme supplement can help fill in the gap. Digest Spectrum® has a unique combination of high-potency enzymes that provides specialized digestive support for individuals who experience intolerance to foods containing gluten, dairy, casein and phenols.*
Can digestive enzymes help me if I am Celiac or have a food allergy?
Unfortunately, digestive enzymes are not suited for these individuals. Food allergies are immune reactions, while food intolerance is an enzyme deficiency. Dietary supplements like Digest Spectrum® work best for those with known food intolerance reactions or those looking to provide support for cross contamination when eating out.
What is different about Digest Spectrum® enzymes versus others?
Not all enzyme supplements are created equal, and Digest Spectrum® has the most potent formula on the market. It contains powerful enzymes like amylase, lipase, cellulase and protease. These enzymes break down complex foods like carbohydrates, fats, fiber and protein.*
Enzymedica's proprietary Thera-blend™ technology means that the enzymes found in Digest Spectrum® will work throughout the entire pH spectrum found along your digestive tract. When other brands’ enzyme formulas may fall short, in almost all acidic or alkaline environments, Digest Spectrum® will be effective.
Recommended Dose
Take 1-2 veggie caps with every meal; More may be taken as needed.
For both adults and children with multiple food intolerances, foods containing gluten, casein, lactose, and phenols are common triggers, often creating digestive discomfort. Supplementing the diet with specialized enzymes—like those in Digest Spectrum®— may assist in lessening pains common to multiple food intolerances.*
